Mark Ingram Squeezes his way With The Heisman!

Mark Ingram, the Running Back from Alabama won The Heisman award on Saturday in New York City, just beating Toby Gerhart by only 26 votes. Mark Ingram won Alabama’s first ever Heisman Trophy, becoming the third straight sophomore to win the award. Mark Ingram’s 1,542 rushing yards is a single-season school record. Ingram has a memorable season so far, from helping Alabama going undefeated with a record of 13-0. Then trouncing the former #1 Florida Gators with Heisman candidate Tim Tebow, defeating the Florida Gators 32-13 in New Orleans for The SEC Championships, the winner clinches a berth to the BCS National Title game. With Alabama the win Alabama captured its 22nd SEC championship title on Saturday, the most in conference history. Ingram stats in the game were 28 Carriers for 114yards rushing, averaging 4.0 yards a carry with 3 touchdowns, and 2 receptions for 76yards against arguably the best Defense in the Nation. Now Mark Ingram and Alabama has a chance to win a National Championship, when the Crimson Tide comes to Pasadena, CA to play in the Rose Bowl against the Texas Longhorns on Jan 7 2010.

Note: The last time Alabama played in the Rose Bowl was January 1st 1946, defeating the Trojans 34-14. The Texas Longhorns last time playing in the Rose Bowl was on January 4th, defeating the USC Trojans 41-38, when Vince Young lead the Longhorns in the game winning drive, running it in for a touchdown on a 4th down defeating the USC Trojans.
